Each square offers a delightful blend of caramelized goodness and vanilla notes, making them perfect for any occasion. Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar (light)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans or raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and melted butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
  3. While the crust bakes, whisk together brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. If using, fold in pecans or raisins.
  4. Pour the filling over the baked crust and return to the oven for an additional 25-30 minutes until set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  5. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
