Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • Fresh parsley (optional), for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in buttermilk. Gently mix until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Brush with melted garlic butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
