Description

Indulge in delightful Chocolate Meringue Easter Nests, a whimsical treat featuring a crunchy exterior and soft center, perfect for celebrating the joys of spring.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large egg whites
  • 1 cup super fine granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for drizzling)
  • Mini eggs or colorful candies (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat egg whites on medium speed until foamy. Gradually add sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form and mixture is glossy.
  3. Gently sift in cocoa powder and fold into the meringue until well combined.
  4. Using a piping bag or spoon, dollop the meringue onto prepared baking sheets, shaping them into nests with wells in the center.
  5. Bake for approximately 1 hour 15 minutes until dry and crisp outside but slightly soft inside. Allow to cool completely.
  6. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave and drizzle over each nest. Fill with mini eggs or candies for decoration.
