  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder (Dutch-process)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the dark chocolate and unsalted butter together until smooth. Stir continuously.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually fold the melted chocolate-butter mixture into the sugar-egg mixture until just combined.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gently fold until no dry streaks remain.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool before cutting into squares.
