Ingredients

  • Ladyfingers
  • Freshly brewed espresso
  • Mascarpone cheese
  • Granulated sugar
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Vanilla extract
  • Heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Brew strong espresso and let it cool slightly. Optionally, add coffee liqueur for an adult twist.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine room temperature mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla extract; beat until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form; gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Quickly dip ladyfingers in the cooled espresso and layer them in a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the ladyfingers.
  5. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling. Smooth the top for presentation.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
