Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Boil 1 cup of water; steep the Earl Grey tea bags for about 5 minutes until fragrant. Allow to cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together cake flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture and cooled tea to the butter mixture.
- Divide the batter between prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
