  • 1 cup phyllo dough (thawed)
  • 1 cup unsalted pistachios (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup walnuts (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped pistachios, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Layer four sheets of phyllo dough on a clean surface, brushing each with melted butter.
  4. Spread half the nut mixture over the dough, add two more buttered sheets on top.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining nuts and finish with four more buttered sheets.
  6. Cut into squares or diamond shapes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While baking, prepare the honey syrup by dissolving sugar and water in a saucepan; stir in honey and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Pour warm syrup over baked bites immediately.
