Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs pork shoulder, cut into chunks
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) hominy, drained
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder (mild and spicy mix)
  • 6 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium-high heat, sear pork shoulder until golden brown on all sides (about 5-7 minutes per side).
  2. Add chopped onions and minced garlic; sauté until translucent (3-4 minutes).
  3. Pour in chicken broth; scrape any browned bits from the pot for added flavor.
