Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms (button or cremini), sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Begin by tenderizing the pork chops between plastic wrap using a meat mallet until about half an inch thick. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs. Dredge each pork chop in flour, dip in egg wash, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter until foamy. Fry the schnitzels for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, add more butter if needed, sauté onions until translucent, then add mushrooms until browned.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and simmer gently for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Plate schnitzels topped with creamy mushroom sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
