Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter with granulated and brown sugars until creamy.
  4. Stir in eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract and red food coloring until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but centers are still soft.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
