Description

Indulge in the warm, comforting flavors of homemade Spiced Apple Butter. This rich, velvety spread combines sweet apples with aromatic spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, creating a delightful treat perfect for toast, desserts, or enjoying straight from the jar. Its heavenly aroma will fill your kitchen with the essence of fall, making it a must-try recipe for cozy moments.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces.
  2. In a large pot or slow cooker, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well.
  3. Cook over medium heat for about 30 minutes or in a slow cooker on low for about 4 hours until the apples are softened.
  4. Use an immersion blender to puree until smooth (or blend in batches). For a chunkier texture, blend only part of the mixture.
  5. Return to heat and simmer uncovered for an additional 20-30 minutes until thickened to your liking.
  6. Transfer to clean jars and refrigerate for up to two weeks or can for longer storage.
