- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
- Powdered sugar glaze (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mix cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and oil until smooth.
- Layer the Cake: Pour half of the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the batter, then dollop with strawberry preserves. Top with the remaining batter.
- Bake: Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Add the Glaze (Optional): Drizzle with a powdered sugar glaze for an extra sweet finish.
Notes
- For a twist, substitute strawberry preserves with raspberry or apricot.
- Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
