- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Zest of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Gather ingredients. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces, mince garlic, and trim asparagus.
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain and reserve some cooking water.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sauté chicken pieces until browned (6-7 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add asparagus to the skillet. Sauté until bright green but still crisp (about 3-4 minutes).
- Combine cooked pasta with chicken and asparagus in the skillet. Toss well, adding reserved cooking water if needed for moisture.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and finish with lemon zest before serving.
