  • 1 cup unsalted butter (226g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (100g)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (120g)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (50g)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (175g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool before slicing into squares.
