Description

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Icing colors & sprinkles (as desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully combined.
  6. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick and cut into egg shapes.
  8. Place cookies on lined baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
  9. Cool on wire racks before decorating with icing and sprinkles.
