  • 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar (200g)
  • 3 large egg whites (100g)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • 1 cup buttercream filling (240g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together almond flour and powdered sugar in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites until frothy; gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the dry mixture into the whipped egg whites until combined, taking care not to overmix.
  5. Pipe heart shapes onto prepared baking sheets and let rest for 30 minutes until a skin forms on top.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes; cool completely before removing from parchment.
  7. Fill each macaron with buttercream filling and assemble.
