Ingredients
900 g (2 lb) ground beef
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp olive oil
Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika.
Press half of the meat mixture into a greased loaf pan.
Spread shredded cheese evenly in the center.
Cover with remaining meat mixture and seal edges.
Mix ketchup and mustard and spread over the top.
Bake for 60–70 minutes, until fully cooked.
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
You can substitute cheese with sautéed mushrooms or spinach.
Letting the meatloaf rest helps keep slices intact.
Serve with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
