Method
Cook the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. This helps to flavor the pasta as it cooks.
- Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes.
- Once cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta in a colander.
Prepare the Sauce
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. This will help to infuse the oil with garlic flavor.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned, to avoid bitterness.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
Combine Pasta and Sauce
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tomato mixture. Toss to combine, ensuring the pasta is well coated.
- If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in the chopped basil, mixing well to incorporate the fresh flavor.
Serve
- Transfer the pasta to a serving bowl. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and place it on top of the pasta.
- Drizzle with balsamic glaze and garnish with additional fresh basil.
- Serve immediately, allowing the burrata to melt slightly into the warm pasta for a creamy texture.

Notes
For a variation, you can add grilled chicken or shrimp for additional protein. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh for the best flavor.
