  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease/flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, sugar, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, oil, and peppermint extract until smooth. Gradually add to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips if desired. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
