Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Zest of 1 orange (about 1 tablespoon)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange zest, and cinnamon. Cook over medium heat until cranberries burst and mixture thickens (about 10 minutes).
  3. Roll out the pie crust to an eighth-inch thickness and cut into tree shapes.
  4. Place half of the shapes on a lined baking sheet, spoon cranberry filling onto each, top with another tree shape, and seal edges.
  5. Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown; let cool slightly before serving.
