- 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Press the tofu by wrapping it in a towel and placing a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and toss in cornstarch until well-coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the coated tofu cubes for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy, flipping occasionally.
- In another pan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and sesame oil. Simmer over medium heat for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Toss the crispy tofu cubes in the sauce until evenly coated.
