Description

Green Bean Almondine is a vibrant and flavorful side dish that combines tender green beans with crunchy, toasted almonds, all enhanced by the rich notes of garlic and lemon.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 3 minutes. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water.
  2. In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sliced almonds for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. Add the blanched green beans and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Stir in lemon juice, toasted almonds, salt, and pepper. Toss to combine.
  6. Serve on a platter garnished with additional lemon zest if desired.
