  • 3/4 cup whole milk (or alternative)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (plus extra for serving)
  • 4 sausage patties or bacon strips
  • Cheese slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg until smooth. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently; some lumps are okay.
  2. Fold in maple syrup for that signature flavor.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it. Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake; cook until bubbles form (2-3 minutes). Flip and cook until golden brown (1-2 minutes).
  4. In another pan, cook sausage patties or bacon until browned (4-5 minutes per side).
  5. Assemble by placing a pancake on the bottom, adding your protein choice and cheese if desired, then topping with another pancake.
