  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Gather your tools, including a heavy-bottomed saucepan and a candy thermometer.
  2. Melt the butter in the saucepan over medium heat. Stir in sugar and corn syrup until smooth.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil while stirring continuously; aim for 300°F (150°C) or a golden-brown color.
  4. Remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla extract and salt. Pour onto a lined baking sheet.
